Comprehensive Employment Services for TANF Recipients in Denver
Denver 360°is a three-step program providing employment service to recipients of Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF). We work with individuals to help them become more self-sufficient and marketable to potential employers while meeting their TANF contract requirements.
Preparing For Employment in Three Key Steps (1-2-3)
Step 1: Getting Ready (Typical Duration: 3 days-2 weeks)
An individual and group training course in a classroom setting that prepares individuals for the job market by emphasizing job-readiness skills, computer knowledge and how to effectively conduct and independent job search.
- Participation Hours and Requirements: 35 hours per week. Monday-Friday, 9am-3pm, at the Welton St. Training Center.
Step 2: Getting Started (Typical Duration: 90 days)
Hands-on learning that emphasized career exploration and gaining real-world work experience. Customers work at community-based training (CBT) sites that match their skills and interests and add to their job-search portfolio. Customers have the option to suggest a new CBT site based on their career goals or use and already established CBT site.
- Participation Hours and Requirements: 35 hours per week. Various days and times and various locations, depending on CBT sites.
Step 3: Employment & Training (Typical Duration: 60-90 days)
Support and assistance for our customers to help them reach their goal of employment. They have a completed portfolio, demonstrated interviewing and personal presentation skills and relevant work experience.
- Participation Hours and Requirements: 35 hours per week, including up to 2 days of job search. Various days and times and various locations.
Limited participation can be arranged on an individual basis in all three steps of the program.
Eligibility Criteria: All customers must:
- Be enrolled in TANF
- Be referred by a business development associate (BDA) or TANF case manager.
- Have stable housing, child care and transportation.
- Participate in a telephone interview with our intake specialist.
- Be at Job Readiness Level 1-2-3
- Have a current Individual Responsibility Contract (IRC), Status Update Referral Form (SURF) and Work Readiness Profile (WRP) on file at Denver Options 360° before they can begin the program.
- Attend orientation and intake.
Eligibility will be determined by a customer's business development associate and our intake specialist.
We will accept individuals with felony and other criminal backgrounds, with special needs and who may need assistance with academic functioning.
