Want to learn more about the basics of Supported Employment and community integrated job development? This half-day session will refresh veterans and get new-comers up to speed.

This Session Will Address: 

  • Why supported employment is an important option for consumers
  • What “quality" supported employment services consist of
  • What the roles and responsibilities of a supported employment service provider are
  • How we support people in choosing supported employment
  • How we explain supported employment services to family members
  • What the steps involved in effectively matching a job seeker’s skills and interests to the best job are

Participants will learn how to: 

  1. Explain the value of supported employment to consumers, their families, and their teams
  2. Assess and evaluate supported employment service providers
  3. Identify financial barriers and strategies to avoid the untimely loss of benefits
  4. Utilize natural supports and accommodations to get long-term results
  5. Provide support to consumers and their service providers throughout employment seeking and job maintenance

Who should attend: People with disabilities, resource coordinators, support brokers, case managers, rehabilitation professionals, employment consultants, transition specialists, and workforce center personnel.
