A Matter of Ethics
“Ethics is knowing the difference between what you have the right to do and what is the right thing to do.” Former United State Supreme Court Justice Potter Stewart
Explore the connection between our organization's values and choices we make day to day. Sometimes we encounter difficult choices that require us to weigh the higher priority of one value over another, sometimes our choices are clear but something still might pull us in a direction that might bring our choices into question. In this highly active program we'll use real examples from our lives. We'll explore how we deal with, not only the tough decisions we sometimes encounter, but the seemingly ordinary choices as well. AND, we'll find out what marbles have to do with Ethics at the same time.
The participants will...
- Investigate a definition of ethical dilemma and ethical behavior
- Explore some contemporary issues regarding ethical behavior
- Delve into challenging ethical questions with each other
- Probe into a process of personal review regarding ethics and what we do when we have concerns about the ethical choices of others
- Investigate their own choices
